This program is
240-class-hour
elementary Chinese foundation stage
designed for beginners of Chinese.
The learners are required to learn about
1,000 characters, over 200 basic
patterns and 3,000 sentences. They will
have basic skills in Chinese listening,
speaking, reading and writing and have
some background knowledge about China
and Chinese culture. They will be able
to understand basic daily expressions
and simple news; to talk over some daily
topics and express themselves freely; to
read narratives of about 800 words and
some daily news with reading speed
between 50 to 100 words per minute for
general idea of the article; and to
write an article or narrative of about
500 words.
